Oceantech Subsea & Marine Services specializes in providing subsea and marine services for offshore construction, subsea inspections, dredging, and pipeline/cable route mapping. We focus on delivering high-quality, accurate survey data to support offshore projects and operations.
Job Overview:
As a Hydrographic Surveyor, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering accurate hydrographic survey data using advanced positioning and sonar equipment. This role involves working offshore and ensuring the integrity of geospatial data for various marine and subsea applications.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct hydrographic surveys using multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, and other survey sensors.

Operate and calibrate survey equipment, including GPS/DGPS, motion sensors, and tide gauges.

Acquire, process, and validate bathymetric and geophysical data according to industry standards.

Generate reports, charts, and digital models (DTMs) for submission to clients and project teams.

Assist in planning survey scope, equipment setup, and data acquisition strategy.

Ensure data integrity and compliance with IHO (International Hydrographic Organization) standards.

Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment and data anomalies offshore.

Collaborate with surveyors, ROV operators, geophysicists, and CAD/drafting personnel.

Maintain survey logs, metadata, and project documentation.

Adhere to offshore HSE regulations and participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, Geophysics, Marine Science, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of offshore survey experience preferred.

Proficiency in survey software (e.g., QINSy, EIVA NaviPac/NaviEdit, Hypack, Caris).

Experience with multibeam and positioning systems (RTK, USBL, INS).

Valid offshore survival (BOSIET/FOET), medical (OGUK), and H2S certifications.

Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

Willingness to work offshore in rotations or extended campaigns.
Desirable Certifications:
-
IHO Cat A or B certification (optional but preferred).

Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS, Global Mapper).
