Mandarin Oriental, a globally recognized luxury hospitality brand, is hiring a Commis I to join the Culinary Department at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi. This role is responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations and ensuring culinary excellence and hygiene standards are maintained. The Commis I will report directly to the Chef de Partie and contribute to providing legendary service inspired by Asian heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare kitchen equipment and maintain work areas.

• Practice courteous and professional communication with guests and team members.

• Follow property safety and hygiene procedures (OH&S and HACCP compliance).

• Assist in accepting, storing, and rotating food deliveries.

• Ensure food is properly labeled, dated, and stored.

• Minimize wastage and spoilage of ingredients.

• Support junior chefs in daily and weekly food safety and storage procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen utensils and equipment.

• Participate actively in all hygiene and HACCP-related programs.

• Proactively anticipate guest needs and provide exceptional service.

• Collaborate with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.

• Take initiative in meeting guest expectations and contributing to team success.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Prior culinary experience in a luxury hotel setting is required (resort experience preferred).

• Culinary diploma or formal apprenticeship certification is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food sanitation standards.

• Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

• High attention to detail and readiness to go the extra mile for guests.
