This full-time, remote role focuses on delivering high-impact journalism across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, covering tourism, aviation, hospitality, and policy changes. Key Responsibilities:

• Report on the latest developments in the MENA travel industry, from tourism projects to aviation trends and hospitality innovations.

• Break news stories and publish exclusive analysis on Skift.com.

• Develop and maintain a strong network of high-level sources across government, tourism authorities, and business executives in the region.

• Write deeply sourced features and analysis that help connect the dots in a complex, evolving sector.

• Conduct public-record and data-driven investigations (e.g., trademarks, job postings, business filings).

• Collaborate with Skift’s global team, including experts in hospitality, airlines, and climate coverage.

• Represent Skift at events and on-stage interviews, contributing to thought leadership in the industry.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in journalism, ideally in business, economic, or travel reporting.

• Strong knowledge of the travel and tourism ecosystem in the Middle East and North Africa.

• Ability to simplify complex issues and deliver clear, engaging content for a professional audience.

• Established source network in tourism, aviation, or hospitality is a significant advantage.

• Fluent English communication and writing skills (Arabic language skills are a plus).

• Ability to work independently across time zones and manage multiple assignments.

• Skilled in transforming complex data into impactful stories and visuals.

• Comfortable interviewing C-level executives and public figures.

• On-stage interviewing experience is a bonus.
