Groups, Conference and Events Manager | Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

The Groups, Conference & Events (GC&E) Manager at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah will be responsible for driving revenue by ensuring seamless planning and execution of group bookings, conferences, and events. This role demands strong relationship management skills and coordination with various departments to deliver exceptional experiences for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for group bookings, conferences, and events.

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and local businesses.

  • Conduct site inspections, sales calls, and client meetings to promote the hotel’s event facilities.

  • Collaborate with sales and revenue management teams to maximize event revenue and optimize pricing strategies.

  • Oversee event planning from inquiry to post-event follow-up.

  • Ensure clear communication of event details (catering, AV requirements, room setup) to internal departments.

  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Banqueting, and Operations teams for smooth event execution.

  • Provide tailored event solutions to meet and exceed client needs.

  • Maintain an up-to-date event diary to manage space availability.

  • Ensure contracts, deposits, and payments are handled according to hotel policies.

  • Gather client feedback to evaluate event success and drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead, mentor, and train the GC&E team to meet service and revenue goals.

  • Foster a positive work environment across teams.

  • Prepare reports on event sales, revenue performance, and client feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with all hotel standards, policies, and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in event management, conference sales, or group bookings within a luxury hotel or hospitality setting.

  • Strong sales acumen and excellent communication skills.

  • Familiarity with event management and hotel booking software (Opera, Delphi, Cvent) is a plus.

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to address key business challenges.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to coach and enhance team selling techniques.

  • Experience with event management software.
