Job Overview:

We are hiring a highly skilled and organized Geotechnical Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our soil and rock testing facility in the UAE. The role requires strong expertise in geotechnical testing standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO), laboratory management, team leadership, and quality control. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate test results to support engineering and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Laboratory Management:

• Supervise daily operations of the geotechnical lab to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency

• Implement and uphold geotechnical testing procedures and industry standards

🔹 Staff Leadership:

• Manage and train lab technicians and assistants

• Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and safety

🔹 Equipment Oversight:

• Schedule routine calibration and maintenance of testing machinery

• Ensure optimal functioning of lab equipment for soil and rock tests

🔹 Quality & Compliance:

• Maintain accreditations and regulatory compliance (ASTM, BS, AASHTO)

• Review, validate, and approve test reports for accuracy and completeness

🔹 Project Coordination:

• Work closely with engineers and project leads to prioritize test schedules

• Deliver accurate test logs, documentation, and QA reports

🔹 Budget & Procurement:

• Manage lab expenses and procurement of testing supplies

• Identify cost-efficiency measures and process improvements

🔹 Client Liaison:

• Act as a technical advisor for clients and internal teams

• Ensure transparent, professional communication of test outcomes and timelines

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering (Master’s is a plus)

• 5+ years of UAE or international experience in geotechnical testing labs

• Proven team management and leadership skills

• Advanced knowledge of soil, rock mechanics, and material behavior

• Familiarity with LIMS systems and strong MS Office proficiency

• High attention to detail, strong documentation, and report-writing skills
