Job Purpose

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable (AP) department. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, maintains integrity in financial documentation, manages AP cycles, and leads a team to ensure smooth execution of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely receipt, review, and posting of all supplier invoices into the system

• Schedule and process vendor payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, and handling discrepancies

• Maintain accounting ledgers and verify account transactions

• Supervise AP team members, ensuring proper task delegation and performance oversight

• Reconcile vendor statements and update vendor information as needed

• Monitor Input VAT reporting to ensure compliance and avoid penalties

• Handle various payment methods including bank transfers, cash, and checks

• Support records management and ensure document accuracy and confidentiality

• Recommend and initiate improvements in AP processes

• Manage ad-hoc finance tasks in alignment with business needs

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of UAE business laws and financial regulations

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Ability to manage high volumes of business transactions

• Team leadership and delegation skills

• Strong organizational and deadline-oriented mindset

• Experience with accounting software (preferably Peachtree/Horizon)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Intermediate professional accounting qualification preferred

• 3–15 years of relevant professional experience

• Valid UAE driving license is a plus
