About the Role:
Waagner Biro Bridge Services is seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer with deep expertise in steel structures and welding supervision. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of welding operations across major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) aligned with project and international standards.

• Supervise welding activities onsite and in workshops, ensuring strict compliance with quality and specifications.

• Conduct welding inspections including visual checks and interpretation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) results per AWS, ASME, and ISO standards.

• Collaborate closely with project engineers, fabricators, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical welding issues.

• Ensure compliance with welding codes such as API, AWS D1.1, ASME, and ISO standards.

• Conduct welder qualification tests and maintain updated welder certifications.

• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to welders and team members.

• Prepare comprehensive welding performance and inspection reports.

• Participate in audits, root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions to address welding defects.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).

• 10–15 years of welding engineering experience, preferably in steel structures or heavy fabrication industries.

• Certified AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CSWIP 3.2 certification (mandatory).

• Extensive knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW, metallurgy, and heat treatment.

• Familiarity with international welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, ISO, API).

• Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication standards.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
