Maths Mentoring Academy is seeking passionate Science, English, and Mathematics Tutors to deliver one-to-one, in-person tutoring (with some online opportunities). These roles are part of UK government-funded education programmes, offering a chance to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Tutors will work with students across primary and secondary levels, helping them catch up, improve academically, and build confidence. This is a rewarding opportunity with competitive hourly pay (£25–£45), training support, and resources provided.

Responsibilities

Science Tutor

• Deliver face-to-face tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

• Support students with targeted lessons to improve understanding

• Track, monitor, and report student progress

English Tutor

• Provide one-on-one tuition in reading, writing, speaking, and listening

• Support students across Key Stages 1–4 who need extra help

• Monitor learning outcomes and provide regular feedback

Mathematics Tutor

• Deliver Maths tuition across primary and secondary levels

• Help students strengthen problem-solving and analytical skills

• Track academic progress and report results

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last month – mandatory)

• Prior experience in tutoring or teaching students preferred

• Strong subject knowledge in Science, English, or Mathematics

• Qualified teachers or university students with strong academic backgrounds welcome

• Excellent communication, adaptability, and patience

• Access to reliable transport for local travel
