Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) plays a vital role in ensuring food safety and animal health in the emirate. By setting high standards in veterinary services, biosecurity, and disease prevention, ADAFSA supports a thriving agriculture sector and protects public health across Abu Dhabi.

Job Objective

To enhance veterinary service quality by overseeing practices, applying biosecurity methods, supporting disease prevention and treatment, and transferring veterinary knowledge and skills across clinics and field operations.

Reports to

Head of Animal Identification & Registration Section

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to ADAFSA policies and the department’s strategy

• Provide technical and medical veterinary services including diagnosis, surgery, and emergency care

• Monitor and control livestock diseases; advise on treatment protocols

• Participate in fertility diagnostics and treatment for farm animals

• Conduct vaccinations and parasite control measures

• Respond to emergencies and reported outbreaks, supporting containment

• Collect and analyze biological samples for lab examination

• Interpret diagnostic imaging reports and assist with public health protection

• Assist in animal identification and registration, ensuring accurate records and system use

• Provide training and technical guidance to veterinary and registration staff

• Maintain proper infection control and biosecurity in hospitals and the field

• Support issuance of animal health certifications

• Represent ADAFSA at local events promoting animal health initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences

• Proficient in Arabic and English (Bilingual)

• Strong technical and practical veterinary experience

• Knowledge of public health risk management related to animal diseases

• Familiarity with digital systems for animal identification and case reporting

• Ability to work under pressure and in the field

• Willingness to participate in national exhibitions and outreach programs
