Job Purpose:

The University Guidance Counsellor will play a key role in helping students explore career paths, prepare university applications, and secure admissions to top global institutions. The role involves providing expert academic and career guidance, conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide students in choosing the right universities, courses, and career paths.
• Assist with university applications, personal statements, and entrance exams (SAT, ACT, UCAS, Common App, etc.).
• Conduct career workshops, university fairs, and counseling sessions for students and parents.
• Stay updated on global university admission trends and scholarship opportunities.
• Build partnerships with top universities and admissions officers worldwide.
• Support students in writing compelling personal statements, CVs, and recommendation letters.
• Guide students through the IB Diploma and A-Level university entrance requirements.
• Organize college visits, internship programs, and mentorship initiatives.
• Maintain detailed student records and track admission success rates.

Required Skills & Experience:

✅ Technical & Professional Skills:

• Strong knowledge of university application processes (UK, US, Canada, Europe, Australia, UAE, etc.).
• Experience with IB Diploma Programme, A-Levels, and BTEC university pathways.
• Familiarity with scholarship opportunities and financial aid options.
• Ability to organize career fairs, workshops, and alumni networking events.

✅ Personal Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor students effectively.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals.

✅ Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related fields.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in university counseling at an international school.
• Certification in Career Counseling or College Admissions Consulting is a plus.
