GEMS Education is hiring a Teaching Assistant to support classroom learning and assist teachers in delivering high-quality education. The role involves running small group activities, preparing classroom materials, and ensuring smooth daily operations while upholding GEMS’ core values and policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers with reading-related and other classroom activities.

Run small group activities inside or outside the classroom as directed.
-
Prepare and tidy classroom activities, mount work displays, and assist with display preparation.

Photocopy documents and prepare worksheets as requested.
-
Cover classes for short periods in emergency situations.
-
Tidy and rearrange stock cupboards and distribute new materials.
-
Develop familiarity with curriculum aspects (literacy, numeracy, phonetics).

Follow GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.

Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding students and school information.

Perform other duties as assigned by reporting managers or supervisors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English.

ICT skills are desirable.
-
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and relate well to children and colleagues.
-
UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is required.
-
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.
