Job Title: Senior Structural Design Coordinator

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Coordinator to oversee the technical design process for complex steel structure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in steel structure detailing, BIM software, and coordination between multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely, accurate, and code-compliant design deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Coordination:

• Collaborate with structural engineers, drafters, and design consultants to ensure accurate and timely delivery of design drawings

• Review and verify shop drawings for compliance with connection designs, calculation reports, project requirements, and applicable codes (AISC, BS, Eurocode)

• Identify and resolve clashes between architectural, structural, and MEP designs, proposing effective and practical solutions

2. Technical Oversight:

• Resolve detailing queries related to fabrication and erection, including workmanship standards, site coordination, and temporary works for erection

• Ensure all design outputs are constructible, optimized for fabrication, and efficient for erection processes

3. Cross-Department Coordination:

• Act as the primary liaison between the design team and stakeholders including fabrication, procurement, QA/QC, and construction teams

• Provide technical support during fabrication and erection stages, addressing site modifications or RFIs promptly

4. Documentation & Control:

• Maintain and update design documentation, ensuring timely submissions for consultant and authority approvals

• Track design deliverables against project schedules and highlight risks or delays

5. Compliance:

• Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, specifications, and client requirements

• Support internal and external audits or inspections related to structural design

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Experience: Minimum 7 years in steel structure detailing, including at least 2 senior modeler roles on large-scale projects

• Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in TEKLA and familiarity with BIM software

• Certifications: Intermediate or higher professional technical titles, or Level Builder qualification

• Other Requirements: Fluent in English, strong problem-solving and coordination skills
