Job Overview:

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Rail team in Dubai. This role is responsible for overseeing the integration of mechanical building services with architectural and structural to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will lead technical discussions, drive innovation through digital solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and reports to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Lead the integration of mechanical systems for large-scale rail and infrastructure projects.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address complex design challenges and ensure project alignment.
• Develop and implement project strategies, ensuring adherence to client objectives and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead technical discussions and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize BIM modeling and computational engineering tools to optimize system performance.
• Implement digital delivery strategies, including advanced simulations, Revit tools, and Revizto in the BIM 360 environment.
• Explore new technologies, materials, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability in mechanical.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and risks, ensuring smooth execution.
• Develop digital automation skills, including programming for design automation, data analysis, and system integration.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. / BEng) in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of post-undergraduate experience (or 6 years if chartered).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng, MCIBSE, MIEE, or equivalent) preferred.
• Local Authority Engineer registration is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in mechanical systems design, BIM modeling, computational engineering, and digital automation.
• Experience working on rail and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, Revizto, and BIM 360 for coordination and optimization.
• Strong understanding of change management, sustainability, and advanced simulation strategies.
