Job Title: Senior Accountant 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at a leading construction company in the UAE. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in construction accounting and a proven ability to manage financial operations for large-scale, multifaceted projects.

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing project finances, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing cash flow, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and record accurate accounting entries for project-related transactions including contracts, direct/indirect costs, and invoicing.

• Oversee accounts receivable/payable and ensure timely reconciliation of supplier and subcontractor accounts.

• Track and review project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

• Prepare tax reports and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and financial standards.

• Collaborate with project management and operations teams to maintain alignment between accounting and execution.

• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely financial documentation.

• Monitor cash flow and deliver periodic financial reports on both company-wide and project-specific performance.

• Develop, implement, and improve accounting procedures tailored to the construction industry.

• Deliver in-depth financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and construction-specific accounting standards.

• Proven expertise in managing complex project accounting and maintaining cost accuracy.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software, especially QuickBooks and Odoo (Odoo preferred).

• Strong financial analysis, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Clear communicator with strong negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to working with executives and contractors.

• Location: United Arab Emirates (UAE residents preferred)
