Relationship Manager – Community Banking

As part of its expansion strategy, ADIB is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Relationship Manager – Community Banking to manage and grow its portfolio in the Abu Dhabi region.


Role Purpose
The Relationship Manager – Community Banking will be responsible for managing an existing portfolio and acquiring new clients, with a focus on achieving financial targets. This includes managing deposits, revenue from cash management & transaction banking, and increasing ADIB’s wallet share with its clients. The role will also require developing a strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and assisting with sector-specific strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

🔸 Relationship Management

  • Originate and introduce new-to-bank clients, adding value to the portfolio through liability balances and asset bookings

  • Manage and grow assigned relationships, ensuring portfolio growth

  • Achieve financial targets (revenue, deposit volumes, CASA/Wakala deposits, etc.)

  • Regularly interact with clients to address their banking and financial needs

  • Collaborate with product partners (Treasury/GTB) to identify business opportunities and deepen relationships

  • Negotiate deals and escalate as needed to senior management

🔸 Process Implementation

  • Develop and implement account plans for each relationship

  • Conduct regular client calls and document call memos, tracking business development opportunities

  • Ensure follow-up with prospects leading to new client acquisition

  • Address any operational issues to client satisfaction

🔸 Sector Expertise

  • Develop an understanding of nonprofit organizations and the economics of their business models

  • Help define sector strategies, target customers, and key initiatives

  • Stay updated on market trends and attend relevant seminars and training

🔸 Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with group policies, Sharia requirements, central bank regulations, and internal legal procedures

  • Maintain up-to-date KYC/ODD records for the assigned portfolio

  • Ensure satisfactory internal and external audit results

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:

  • Strong understanding of cash management products and banking operations

  • Deep knowledge of the UAE banking market, especially in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western Region

  • Excellent technical and analytical skills

  • Strong customer service and marketing skills


Experience:

  • 6-10 years of experience in handling SMEs, government, or corporate banking clients

  • UAE-based experience is a must
