Regional Chemist
Element Materials Technology Dubai , UAE

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Regional Chemist to provide technical support, expertise, and training across a broad range of chemistry and environmental services in the MEAP region, including UAE, KSA, Qatar, and Singapore. The role involves method implementation, development, validation, audits, and contributing to safety, quality, and service delivery standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive analytical chemistry experience, ISO 17025 knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and expertise for chemistry and environmental services under the guidance of the Principal Chemist.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Quality standards in ISO 17025 accredited facilities.

  • Support the introduction, development, and validation of new tests, instruments, and technologies.

  • Analyze problems, troubleshoot systems, and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Manage projects considering budget, timeline, and resources.

  • Train and upskill colleagues on technical and quality-related topics.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in chemistry.

  • Conduct audits of technical activities related to chemistry and environmental services.

  • Support IT and operational projects for the development and growth of chemistry and environmental operations in the MEAP region.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field; significant relevant industry experience required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in analytical chemistry; 10+ years preferred with method implementation, development, validation, and auditing experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 17025; ISO 17025 Lead Auditor certification preferred.

  • Expertise in at least one of the following: Wet Chemistry, Inorganic/Organic Instrumental Analysis, Metallurgical Chemistry, Environmental Site Testing, Indoor Air Quality Testing, Industrial Hygiene Testing.

  • Strong understanding of LIMs systems and laboratory processes.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a dynamic environment and travel within the MEAP region.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • High integrity, impartiality, and quality-focused mindset.
