Kerry Dairy Ireland, a global leader in taste and nutrition, is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to lead its analytical lab focused on food, flavour, and ingredient innovation. The role involves managing laboratory operations, conducting advanced analyses, and translating complex data into actionable insights to support R&D and product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory tailored to food and flavour innovation.

• Select, validate, and operate analytical instruments (GC, GC-MS, LC, SPME) and methodologies.

• Conduct analyses in flavour, food rheology, and ingredient functionality.

• Develop SOPs, quality systems, and safety protocols aligned with regulatory compliance.

• Interpret complex analytical data to support formulation, shelf-life, and sensory performance.

• Collaborate with R&D, sensory, and application teams to translate analytical results into practical insights.

• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting formulation challenges.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in food analysis.

• Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.

Requirements:

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in food and flavour analysis; flavour house experience desirable.

• Strong hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and method development.

• Proven ability to interpret data and influence product development decisions.

• Strong stakeholder management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
