Job Title: Quality and HSE Manager

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality and HSE Manager to oversee and enhance the company’s integrated management system, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISM Code, ISPS, and MLC requirements. The role involves maintaining a high standard of quality compliance, managing health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) activities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, and continually improve the integrated management system (IMS) in line with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISM Code, ISPS, and MLC requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements for quality.
  • Establish clear channels of communication for HSE matters within the organization, including informal and formal meetings.
  • Ensure that first aid provisions and safety arrangements are appropriate for the risks involved and communicated to all employees.
  • Record and report injury accidents to the HSEQ Manager.
  • Ensure all company activities are covered by safe working systems and review these periodically for accuracy.
  • Oversee all quality-related matters for the company and ensure alignment with the company’s Quality Program.
  • Develop and implement quality policies and programs, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Validate quality requirements during project bidding and award stages.
  • Control and maintain IMS documentation, ensuring communication of changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Periodically review HSEQ-related documents in collaboration with other departments for updates and improvements.

Requirements:

Competency Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification.
  • Internal/Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, ISM Code).
  • Train the Trainer certification.
  • Incident Investigation training.
  • Risk Assessment course completion.
  • Knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC, and the maritime industry.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of operational experience in a similar function or position.
  • Background in marine, port, offshore operations, or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for internal and external communication with clients.
  • Proficient in training, auditing, and investigation.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Assertive with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and willing to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Analytical thinking and effective reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
