Job Title: Project Engineer – Petrochemical & Refining (Fujairah, UAE)

Job Description:

A reputable UAE-based company in the hard commodities, petrochemical, and refining sector is seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale international projects from concept to execution. The role requires strong technical expertise, project coordination skills, and compliance knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination:

• Define project objectives, scope, and technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to milestones.
• Coordinate activities across multiple teams and departments.

Technical Documentation & Design Analysis:

• Review and validate engineering drawings, BFDs/PFDs, process descriptions, and layout plans.
• Perform process simulations and design calculations (Aspen Plus, HYSYS preferred).
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up to date.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

• Liaise with engineering contractors, technology licensors, and suppliers.
• Evaluate bidding proposals and provide technical recommendations.

Compliance & Quality Control:

• Ensure compliance with UAE and international regulatory standards, safety protocols, and QA/QC policies.
• Participate in risk assessments and implement safety best practices.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:

• Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to senior management.
• Ensure effective communication between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

Collaboration & Problem-Solving:

• Work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support seamless integration of engineering disciplines to optimize project success.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical, or related).
• 5–7 years of experience in large-scale petrochemical or refining projects (concept to EPC phase).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in engineering drawings, process simulation (Aspen Plus, HYSYS preferred).
• Knowledge of ISBL and OSBL facility design and operations.

Compliance & Regulations:

• Strong understanding of UAE industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach to project execution.

Languages:

• Fluency in English (required); Arabic is a plus.
