AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Urban Designer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This role requires leading the design and delivery of urban design and master planning projects across the UAE, KSA, and wider Middle East. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in urban planning, master planning, and design management, with proven experience in delivering large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of concurrent urban design and master planning projects.

• Take ownership of medium to large-scale design and production packages under project supervision.

• Organize and develop high-quality client presentations and project submissions.

• Ensure deliverables meet established design standards and deadlines.

• Undertake technical coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead preparation of technical bids and fee proposals.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through meetings, workshops, and seminars.

• Travel within the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, as required.

Requirements:

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in urban design, planning, or landscape architecture (professional affiliation preferred).

• Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in urban design, urban planning, and master planning.

• Proven ability to lead large-scale urban planning and design projects in the Middle East.

• Strong design and graphics expertise, including Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge of sustainability principles (LEED or similar) is an advantage.

• Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.

• Strong organizational, coordination, and design management abilities.
