Job Title: Pattern Cutter

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pattern Cutter with specialized expertise in modest fashion, particularly abaya design. This role is perfect for someone with a strong sense of design, technical precision, and a passion for preserving the elegance and cultural essence of modest wear. You’ll collaborate closely with designers and tailors to develop patterns that combine fit, modesty, and flowing silhouettes across a variety of abaya styles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft accurate patterns for a wide range of abaya styles including traditional, contemporary, and embellished pieces

• Interpret design sketches and technical specs into production-ready patterns

• Work with fabrics such as chiffon, crepe, satin, nida, and embroidered materials

• Adjust patterns based on fabric behavior, fittings, and feedback

• Maintain modesty requirements in all pattern cuts while achieving a flattering fit

• Collaborate with sample makers and tailors to create first samples and refine designs

• Grade patterns across size ranges while preserving design proportions and loose silhouettes

• Keep a structured archive of patterns and version records

• Stay informed on modest fashion trends, pattern-making innovations, and fabric technologies

Requirements:

• 3–6 years of experience in pattern cutting within the modest fashion or abaya industry

• Proficiency in manual pattern drafting (CAD knowledge is a plus)

• Deep understanding of modest garment design principles

• Experience with various abaya styles (kaftan, butterfly, kimono, open front, etc.)

• Strong fabric handling and garment construction skills

• Keen attention to symmetry, fit, drape, and cultural details

• Effective communicator and team collaborator

• Experience with embroidery placement and embellishment integration is a bonus

Technical & Design Skills:

• Expertise in modest fashion construction and grading for loose-fit garments

• Knowledge of fabric behaviors for delicate, flowing materials

• Precision in cutting techniques for sheer and luxury textiles

• Strong cultural sensitivity for neckline, sleeve, and hem design

• Experience conducting fittings and modifying patterns accordingly

Preferred Candidate:

• 3–6 years of hands-on pattern-cutting experience in modest or abaya fashion

• Exposure to luxury or bespoke production environments is a plus

• Based in or willing to relocate to the UAE
