Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate OPD Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our outpatient department. This role involves assessing patient needs, coordinating care plans, educating patients, and working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical excellence, uphold patient safety, and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the outpatient department.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and medical history.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist in medical examinations, minor procedures, and wound care management.
- Facilitate patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Perform essential life support procedures, such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) as required.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and families regarding treatment plans and preventive care.
Team Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Work closely with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Support, mentor, and supervise student nurses, new graduates, and junior staff.
- Participate in clinical training programs, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Engage in peer learning, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Adhere to UAE Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain strict infection control and hygiene standards, ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and safety protocols.
- Report and document incidents, near misses, and patient concerns in a timely manner.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and risk management activities.
Ethics & Patient Advocacy:
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring respectful, ethical, and patient-centered care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional integrity at all times.
- Foster an inclusive environment, promoting diversity, equity, and patient dignity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing license (DOH/DHA/MOH/MOHAP) as per UAE regulations.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical procedures, diagnostics, and emergency response protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare technology.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
