NICU Specialist (Arabic Speaker)

Kanad Hospital, a leading healthcare institution committed to compassionate and world-class care, is seeking an NICU Specialist (Arabic Speaker) to join their team. The specialist will be responsible for providing advanced medical care for neonates in the NICU, labor & delivery ward, and inpatient units. The role involves direct patient care, training of nursing staff, teaching responsibilities, and coordination of referrals when required.

Key Responsibilities:

NICU Duties:

  • Provide specialized care for newborns admitted to the NICU.

  • Manage clinical issues of premature infants and neonates with complex conditions, including metabolic disorders and dysmorphic syndromes.

  • Perform and manage invasive and non-invasive respiratory support.

  • Conduct NICU procedures such as UVC, UAC, percutaneous line, arterial line insertion, and chest drain placement.

  • Maintain high standards of infection control and contribute to unit development.

  • Participate in staff training and teaching programs.

Labor & Delivery Ward:

  • Attend high-risk deliveries including preterm, MSAF, breech, abnormal CTG, and C-sections.

  • Perform neonatal resuscitation independently and lead resuscitation teams.

General Duties:

  • Provide patient-centered care within ethical, legal, and DOH/JCI guidelines.

  • Ensure patient confidentiality and culturally sensitive communication.

  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.

  • Interpret diagnostic results, prescribe treatments, and communicate care plans effectively.

  • Coordinate referrals and multidisciplinary support for patients and families.

  • Engage in professional development and Kanad Hospital’s CME programs.

  • Supervise, orient, and support new staff and medical students.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to clinical decision-making.

  • Be available for house calls and telephone consultations as required.

Requirements:

  • Board certified or MD in Pediatrics with fellowship in Neonatology (preferred).

  • DOH/DHA licensed, DOH passer, or exam exempted preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of post-MD experience.

  • Skilled in neonatal intubation, including extreme low birth weight infants.

  • Strong diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse cultural and patient groups.
