The Molecular Biology Technologist will assist the Laboratory Manager in coordinating lab activities, performing accurate and timely testing of patient samples, and ensuring compliance with the quality management system. The role involves exposure to various laboratory departments to maintain versatility and efficiency during emergency shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret microbiology procedures in line with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Isolate, culture, and identify bacteria or other micro-organisms; prepare gram stains, acid-fast stains, and fungal/parasitology preparations.

  • Prepare culture media, reagents, and stains; monitor laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Accurately document and update records, reports, and statistical information.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and hospital personnel; communicate effectively.

  • Participate in quality control and quality improvement programs; follow safety procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory issues, perform preventative maintenance, and escalate complex problems as needed.

  • Share call duties and work shifts as required; report critical test results promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.

  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience.

  • Licensed in the country of origin and holds DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.

  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
