As part of its ongoing mission to provide world-class academic support services, Liwa College is seeking a dedicated Librarian to assist in the daily operations and continued development of the College library.
Job Responsibilities:

Assist the Library Manager in selecting, acquiring, and maintaining a diverse and up-to-date library collection.

Sort, shelve, lend, and receive library materials such as books, periodicals, and audio-visual resources.

Maintain and organize the library’s physical and digital collections.

Evaluate and recommend materials for weeding, replacement, and repair.
-
Develop and conduct library programming and workshops for students and staff.
-
Support the integration of advanced information technologies within library services.
-
Assist in preparing library materials for binding and oversee the quality of externally bound materials.
-
Provide reference services and train patrons in the use of the library catalog, digital resources, and interlibrary systems.

Ensure compliance with library policies and enforce regulations as needed.

Prepare reports, maintain statistical records, and assist in budget tracking and acquisitions.

Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the library’s offerings, ensuring alignment with curriculum needs.

Collaborate with the Learning Resource Center and contribute to the integration of e-resources into the College’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Catalog and classify library materials according to established best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science from a recognized university.

Proficiency in library systems and information technology tools.

Strong organizational skills with experience in cataloging, acquisitions, and collection management.

Excellent time management and communication skills.
-
Ability to support both independent tasks and collaborative initiatives.

Familiarity with digital resource platforms and electronic library systems is a plus.
