UAE Jobs & Careers is hiring a highly skilled Legal Specialist to support a client’s operations in the technology sector. This role focuses on providing legal guidance and support related to information technology, software development, and emerging technologies including AI/ML. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of UAE laws, data protection, and intellectual property, with a keen eye for legal risks in tech projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to AI/ML technologies

• Guide on compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR and UAE Data Protection Law

• Provide intellectual property support for software, algorithms, and AI/ML models

• Draft and review software licenses, development, and data processing agreements

• Conduct legal research on technology laws and stay updated on industry developments

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure compliance

• Monitor legal risks associated with technology and software projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution

• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, ideally focused on technology law

• Strong expertise in data privacy, IP law, and contract law

• Understanding of the UAE legal framework and The Information Technology Act of 2000

• Excellent communication, research, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-house legal experience at a tech company

• Knowledge of international data transfer laws and cross-border legal issues

• Familiarity with legal implications of AI/ML technologies in various jurisdictions
