A leading multinational laboratory organization is seeking an experienced Laboratory Director – Newborn Screening (NBS) to establish and manage an in-house newborn screening laboratory in Dubai. The ideal candidate will oversee operations, ensure compliance with DHA, DOH, MOH, CAP, and ISO standards, and drive the lab’s accreditation and quality assurance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain newborn screening protocols ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
• Achieve and maintain CAP and ISO accreditation for the laboratory.
• Lead the selection, validation, and implementation of testing methodologies for newborn screening.
• Ensure the timely processing and reporting of test results with accuracy and reliability.
• Serve as the primary liaison with healthcare professionals, public health departments, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee staff hiring, training, and development, ensuring a highly skilled team.
• Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in newborn screening and implement innovative solutions.
• Facilitate research collaborations and pilot studies with local and international universities.
• Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and data security policies for patient records.

Requirements:

• PhD in Clinical Pathology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Alternatively, MD with specialization in Genetics, Pediatrics, or Pathology may be considered.
• Certification from a recognized board (e.g., ABMGG – American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics) is a plus.
• Extensive experience in a newborn screening laboratory, including tandem mass spectrometry, DNA analysis, and biochemical assays.
• Strong leadership experience in laboratory management, including compliance, accreditation, and quality control.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as pediatricians and geneticists.

Job Offer:

• Salary: AED 40,000 – 50,000 per month
