Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer with a strong portfolio in large-scale transportation projects. This role will oversee, evaluate, and approve the interior design components provided by Design & Build (D&B) contractors, ensuring full alignment with client standards, project specifications, and regional regulations. The ideal candidate will be BIM-proficient and capable of leading interior design aspects across multiple complex infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve interior design submissions, shop drawings, and material selections from D&B contractors.

• Ensure compliance with international and local codes, client expectations, and functional design requirements.

• Conduct technical evaluations, coordinate comments, and ensure accurate implementation on-site.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and cross-functional design teams to ensure cohesive integration.

• Utilize design tools such as BIM, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling software for proposal validation and review.

• Monitor construction quality and ensure interior elements are executed per design intent and standards.

• Guide contractors in addressing design deviations and suggest viable, budget-conscious alternatives.

• Lead space planning, material sourcing, and concept development while maintaining sustainability goals.

• Deliver technical documentation and reports to support timely project progress and approvals.

• Provide mentorship and technical support to junior designers and team members.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in transportation or public infrastructure design (metro stations, airports, transport hubs, commercial or mega hospitality projects).

• Strong knowledge of BIM and advanced design software.

• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams.

• Based in GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, or Kuwait) with eligibility to work regionally.
