Role Summary:
Cognita Schools is seeking a Health and Safety Officer (HSO) to join their team at Al Ain English Speaking School (AAESS). The successful candidate will ensure strict compliance with OSHAD-SF, ADEK, and Cognita policies, promote a strong safety culture, and lead continuous improvement efforts in health and safety practices across the school.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor compliance with ADEK, Cognita ME, and regulatory HSE guidelines.

Lead risk assessments, maintain documentation, and implement necessary controls.

Deliver internal HSE training and support ADEK-required programs.

Coordinate and respond to internal and external audits.

Investigate incidents, ensure proper documentation, and align reports with regulatory requirements.

Maintain and update health and safety documentation and policies.
-
Chair the Health & Safety Committee and encourage collaboration.

Foster a proactive, organization-wide safety culture.
Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
-
NEBOSH certificate/diploma is mandatory.
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety advisory role.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Skilled in incident investigation and report writing.
-
Level 3 training qualification (preferred).
-
Experience in education sector (preferred).

Familiarity with ADEK/OSHAD systems (preferred).
