GEMS Education is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Art and Design to join their academic team in Dubai starting August 2025. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role ideal for an innovative educator committed to delivering exceptional arts education while driving academic excellence and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Art and Design curriculum.

• Ensure schemes of work are current, inclusive, and meet national educational standards.

• Promote innovative teaching practices that engage and inspire students.

• Support teachers with lesson planning, differentiation strategies, and assessment methodologies.

• Conduct regular classroom observations, learning walks, and staff performance reviews.

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to department staff.

• Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging resource sharing and professional growth.

• Monitor and analyze student performance data to guide teaching strategies.

• Design and implement interventions to improve student achievement and close learning gaps.

• Manage departmental resources efficiently, including art materials and instructional tools.

• Maintain clear communication with senior leadership, parents, and relevant external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (required)

• Recognized teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)

• Demonstrated success in raising student achievement

• Strong ability to interpret and act on educational data

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities

• Up-to-date knowledge of educational best practices

• Strong teamwork and conflict-resolution skills
