Job Title: Geotechnical Design Engineer – Piling & Foundation (UAE)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer to join Profound Contracting, a newly established yet highly promising piling, foundation, and geotechnical contracting company in the UAE. Backed by over 25 years of industry expertise, we deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for foundation and geotechnical projects.

This role involves designing and analyzing piling, shoring, and excavation support systems while ensuring technical integrity, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and project requirements. You will work closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to optimize foundation solutions and ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Geotechnical Analysis & Design:

• Perform geotechnical analysis and design for piling and shoring systems (e.g., bored piles, secant/contiguous pile walls, sheet piling, H-beam retaining walls, and anchoring systems).
• Conduct analysis for ground improvement techniques, soil-structure interaction, lateral earth pressure, bearing capacity, settlement, and liquefaction risk assessment.
• Prepare structural & geotechnical calculations and design reports for deep and shallow foundations.
• Develop value-engineered solutions to optimize material usage and reduce costs.
• Conduct geotechnical risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Project Collaboration & Technical Approvals:

• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to align designs with site conditions and approval requirements.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals for constructability and compliance.
• Provide technical support and clarifications during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with local and international engineering standards (e.g., BS, Eurocodes, ACI, ASTM, Dubai Municipality guidelines).

Documentation & Quality Control:

• Prepare and maintain design calculations, reports, and engineering documentation in accordance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Assist in obtaining authority approvals and participate in technical discussions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design procedures and quality control processes.

Key Authorities:

• Approve geotechnical design reports and calculations for submission.
• Validate shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Recommend design modifications for improved efficiency and cost savings.
• Liaise with external consultants and regulatory authorities for technical approvals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus).
• DM accredited/approved engineer.
• Proficiency in geotechnical and structural design software (e.g., PLAXIS, DeepEX, Wallap, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, GeoStudio).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and excavation support systems.
• Ability to interpret site investigation reports, borehole logs, and laboratory test results.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in geotechnical design for piling and shoring projects.
