Job Title: General Ledger Accountant

Job Description:

We are hiring an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join a well-established FMCG company based in Dubai, UAE. This full-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong background in accounting systems and financial reporting, specifically within the UAE’s FMCG sector.

As a GL Accountant, you will be responsible for payroll processing, staff reconciliation, utility expense analysis, and ERP system optimization. This is a critical role that supports financial transparency and efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile monthly staff records in the system against official HR records.

• Prepare detailed payroll entries using accurate employee, department, and division codes.

• Submit payroll entries for FM approval and generate a high-level payroll summary for approval by GL Supervisor, FM, and CFO.

• Ensure timely payment of utilities including water, electricity, telecommunications, and Salik.

• Conduct monthly consumption and variance analysis for utilities and flag abnormalities or overcharges.

• Develop ERP system expertise and become a super user of all Finance modules.

• Reduce manual processes by leveraging ERP capabilities and streamlining workflows.

• Support period-end closing and general ledger reconciliations in line with IFRS standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Male, aged 40 years or below.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience as a GL Accountant in the FMCG industry.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, Oracle, and strong understanding of IFRS.

• Demonstrated experience in reconciliations, payroll entries, and closing processes.

• Currently residing in the United Arab Emirates.
