Job Overview

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client in Dubai is seeking a Civil Estimation Engineer with extensive experience in cost estimation for major civil construction projects. Candidates must have prior experience working for a recognized main contracting company on projects such as mid/high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, and mall/retail developments.

This role is available for immediate joining on a 3-6 month contract (outsourced via J10 Consulting), with a potential transfer to permanent employment after six months based on performance and mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities

📊 Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare cost estimates.

• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.

• Conduct site visits and feasibility studies to assess project scope and requirements.

💰 Budgeting & Procurement

• Research and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring project feasibility.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to optimize costs.

📑 Bid Preparation & Risk Assessment

• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, bid proposals, and reports for client presentations.

• Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.

• Identify potential risks in project estimation and recommend mitigation strategies.

🛠 Post-Tender Support & Compliance

• Support post-tender activities, including negotiations and contract finalization.

• Maintain a database of costing information, market rates, and historical data for reference.

• Stay updated with local regulations, codes, and contract terms related to civil engineering projects.

Requirements

✅ Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in construction cost estimation, quantity surveying, or tendering.

• Must have worked with a recognized Main Contracting Company.

✅ Technical Skills

• Proficiency in estimation software (AutoCAD, Primavera, CostX, etc.).

• Advanced MS Excel skills for cost analysis & reporting.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

✅ Competencies

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple project estimates.
