Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Lead to join our remote-first startup and support the CTO and Product Manager in scaling our platform delivery. The role is ideal for a senior full-stack engineer or backend expert who is ready to take technical delivery ownership, document systems, lead small teams, and ensure efficient and high-quality delivery. You will gradually take on key technical leadership responsibilities, allowing our CTO to focus on tech vision and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:

Documentation & System Ownership: Shadow the CTO, documenting key technical systems including deployments, microservice structure, and Redis caching.

Team Leadership: Lead daily Zoom syncs with the CTO and PM to align priorities. Review PRs, guide junior developers, and enforce quality through GitHub.

Technical Delivery: Own 1-2 microservices (e.g., authentication, notifications) within the first 8 weeks.

Cross-team Coordination: Work closely with internal and outsourced teams to manage backend, frontend, and mobile development efforts.

DevOps & Security: Ensure proper backups, deployments, rollback plans, and SOPs are in place. Implement performance improvements and DevOps enhancements.

Support Product Development: Collaborate with the Product Manager to groom features and create technical tasks for implementation.
Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development, with proficiency in Node.js and NestJS.

Solid understanding of Typescript, MongoDB, Redis, and microservice patterns.

Strong experience with AWS cloud services, CI/CD, and DevOps environments.

Proven ability to lead sprints, PRs, and small teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across product and development teams.

Previous roles with an average tenure of ≥ 2 years (no rapid job-hopping).
