Abbott, a global leader in healthcare innovation for over 125 years, is seeking a Director of Medical Affairs – Infectious Disease, EMEA to be based in Dubai. This senior leadership role focuses on shaping and executing medical strategies across the region, leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with healthcare experts, and driving scientific publications. The position requires a strong background in medical leadership, product development, regulatory standards, and stakeholder engagement across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement medical strategies for Infectious Disease across EMEA.

• Create and execute annual medical affairs plans.

• Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, global partners, NGOs, and governmental organizations.

• Write study protocols, monitor progress, analyze results, and collaborate with investigators on scientific publications.

• Represent Abbott by preparing abstracts, medical posters, and presenting at professional meetings.

• Lead cross-functional teams in developing physician and patient education materials.

• Serve as liaison between Customers, Regulatory, and Technical teams for medical issues.

• Provide input into product design, new technologies, OEM opportunities, and expanded product claims.

• Lead and mentor Medical Affairs Managers across the EMEA region.

• Ensure strict compliance with ethics and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Medical Doctor (Doctorate Degree required).

• 5–10 years of product development and medical management experience.

• 2–4 years of business unit or general management experience.

• Strong knowledge of IVDs, biologics regulations, and healthcare standards.

• Demonstrated ability to build external relationships with scientists and medical professionals.

• Proven record of developing and executing Medical Affairs or R&D plans.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and medical writing skills.

• Recognized subject matter expertise with published work in the field.
