Gensler, the world’s largest design firm, is hiring a Design Manager – Cities & Urban Design in Dubai. This full-time role is ideal for a seasoned design leader with a passion for sustainability, innovation, and managing multidisciplinary architecture and urban design projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement

• Lead multiple client projects and grow the business across various practice areas.

• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and act as the key client liaison.

Team & Project Leadership

• Manage project phases, team direction, scope, schedule, and deliverables.

• Cultivate a positive team environment and open communication.

Project Delivery & Operations

• Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and documentation.

• Ensure timely and quality project delivery that meets client goals.

Financial Management

• Monitor project budgets and profitability targets.

• Manage billing, collections, productivity projections, and approvals.

Sustainability & Innovation

• Integrate sustainable design principles (LEED, WELL, Net Zero, etc.).

• Support and lead climate-conscious architecture discussions and goals.

Design Technology Oversight

• Lead BIM-based workflows and digital collaboration (Revit, Rhino, BIM360).

• Utilize parametric tools (Grasshopper, Dynamo) and visualization software (Enscape, Twinmotion).

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or related field.

• 15+ years of experience in design/project management roles.

• Professional licensure or certification preferred.

• At least one sustainability-certified built project (LEED, WELL, etc.) required.

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of project and financial management.

• Strong leadership and communication capabilities.

• Familiarity with Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Adobe Suite, and BIM360.

• Passion for urban transformation, sustainability, and smart design technologies.
