ACWA Power is hiring a Coal/Ash Field Operator to join the operations team at the Hassyan Plant in Dubai. The role involves overseeing all field operations related to the jetty systems, coal handling system, and ash handling system. The operator will coordinate with the Coal and Ash Control Room, operate valves, pumps, and equipment, check plant conditions, isolate equipment for maintenance, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow safety guidelines, including the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.

• Support Shift Supervisor in local line-up and equipment isolation.

• Monitor and record local parameters such as pressure, levels, temperature, and lubrication.

• Detect abnormal equipment conditions through observation, sound, vibration, or heat.

• Report leaks of coal, ash, air, or water.

• Manually operate valves, dampers, and related equipment.

• Check safety valves, PRVs, and report abnormalities to the control room.

• Maintain shift logbooks and area log sheets.

• Adhere to SOPs and switch between automatic and manual controls when required.

• Assist in equipment isolation for maintenance and repair.

• Provide first-line emergency response for fire or critical incidents.

• Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and environmental regulations.

• Report unsafe acts or conditions to the competent authority.

• Work in other assigned areas as required by supervisors.

Health, Safety & Environment:

• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental standards.

• Monitor environmental regulatory parameters and report deviations to the Shift Supervisor or CCR Operator.

• Maintain awareness of fire equipment and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Technical Diploma in Engineering.

• 1–3 years of coal field operations experience in power or water desalination units.

• UAE Nationals with Family Book are preferred.

• Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and field operations.

• Experience in conventional, combined cycle, water desalination (RO, MSF, MED), or renewable energy plants (solar, wind).

• Strong awareness of HSE and quality standards.

• Knowledge of waste handling, firefighting equipment, and operational safety.

• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.

• Integrity, respect, and adaptability to innovation.

• Good communication skills.
