Job Title: Chief Accountant 

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join a leading international fast-food brand in Dubai, UAE. This role requires a finance professional with strong expertise in accounting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting within the QSR, F&B, or FMCG sector.

The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial data, compliance with accounting standards, and efficiency in reporting processes while collaborating across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consolidate and update financial data for assigned Strategic Business Units (SBUs)

• Analyze trial balances, investigate unusual entries, and prepare validated variance reports

• Submit monthly updates to the Financial Reporting Manager while liaising with cross-functional teams

• Prepare and review statutory financial schedules and disclosures in compliance with regulations

• Coordinate with auditors during interim and year-end audits, addressing queries and resolving management letter points

• Review and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and recommend adjustments or clean-up activities

• Summarize key transactions and validate financial insights for the Finance Head

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Chartered Chief Accountant certification (mandatory)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the QSR, F&B, or FMCG industry

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, statutory requirements, internal controls, and governance

• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar

• Advanced understanding of financial account management and reporting practices

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Arabic speakers preferred; age preferably 45 years and below
