A leading educational institution in Al Ain is seeking a Career Counselor to guide and support students in making informed academic and career choices. The role involves helping students with university admissions, academic planning, scholarship opportunities, and career goals while maintaining strong connections with universities and external organizations. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Organize timetables for students applying to universities worldwide, including those on gap years.

• Meet with students to develop, monitor, and update academic and career plans.

• Assist students and parents with admissions forms, financial aid, and scholarship applications.

• Provide guidance to help students select appropriate and realistic university courses.

• Maintain effective communication with universities and colleges.

• Organize visits, career days, and invite university representatives to the school.

• Coordinate annual work experience placements with parents, alumni, and contacts.

• Build and maintain a database of alumni for mentoring and support.

• Develop and update college-related resources, catalogues, and test preparation materials.

• Collaborate with external organizations such as testing bodies, embassies, and summer programs.

• Administer aptitude and achievement tests as per requirements.

• Advise on academic pathways (IGCSE, IBDP, vocational) through group and individual meetings.

• Track and record university admissions decisions, awards, and statistics.

• Stay updated on global higher education trends, admissions processes, and testing requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.

• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in career counseling, preferably in a school setting.

• Familiarity with various school curricula (IGCSE, IB, vocational programs).

• Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.

• Ability to nurture, advise, and support students effectively.

• Up-to-date knowledge of universities, admissions processes, and professional organizations.

• Proven ability to manage processes, monitoring, and follow-up independently.
