A leading educational institution in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced Career Counselor to guide and support students in their academic and career planning. The role involves organizing career programs, assisting with university admissions, providing personalized counseling, and building strong connections with universities, parents, and alumni. The Career Counselor will also play a key role in career events, work placements, and maintaining up-to-date resources for higher education and career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize timetables for students applying to universities worldwide, including gap-year students.

• Meet with younger students to set, monitor, and update academic plans and career goals.

• Assist students and parents with university applications, admissions forms, and scholarships.

• Provide guidance on realistic aspirations and wise course selection for higher education.

• Establish and maintain communication with universities, colleges, and external organizations.

• Invite and host university representatives, plan college visits, and organize career days.

• Coordinate annual work experience placements with contacts, parents, and alumni.

• Maintain a database of alumni for mentoring and support initiatives.

• Create and update a library of resources including catalogues, testing materials, and prep guides.

• Prepare supporting documents for admissions such as transcripts, school profile, and handbook.

• Administer aptitude and achievement testing as required.

• Advise on subject choices (IGCSE, IBDP, vocational programs) in consultation with students and parents.

• Track university admissions decisions, awards, and maintain records/statistics.

• Stay updated on higher education trends, admissions, and testing processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Career Counselor or in a similar role.

• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

• Experience working in a school setting with familiarity across different curricula.

• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.

• Ability to support, nurture, and advise students effectively.

• Up-to-date knowledge of global universities and higher education trends.

• Membership in professional organizations is an advantage.
