Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is hiring a Bariatric Coordinator to oversee and support the care of bariatric patients. The role involves coordinating clinical care, providing patient education, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring compliance with international and local healthcare standards. This position emphasizes improving patient outcomes, advocating for patients, and supporting multidisciplinary care processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure individualized patient care plans and carry out physician orders specific to bariatric patients.

• Assess and improve patient care processes through direct clinical consultation.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement evidence-based practices.

• Encourage bedside RNs to use critical thinking in clinical care.

• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds for bariatric patients.

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

• Review discharge instructions and arrange follow-up appointments.

• Facilitate patient education and provide support throughout the bariatric surgery process.

• Provide direct care to bariatric patients with complex acute and chronic medical conditions.

• Act as a patient advocate to protect health, safety, and rights.

• Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, safety, and infection control policies.

• Contribute to quality assurance programs and departmental targets.

• Ensure compliance with Department of Health Abu Dhabi and international healthcare standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field; Master’s degree in Nursing or relevant area preferred.

• Postgraduate diploma in Bariatric care is a plus.

• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; 2 years in bariatric or closely related nursing.

• Valid national nursing license.

• BLS certification from AHA or equivalent (must be obtained within 3 months if not already held).

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
