Associate Flavourist

Givaudan, a global leader in flavours, fragrances, and wellness solutions, is seeking an Associate Flavourist to join its Flavours division in Dubai. This role is integral to developing innovative taste solutions that shape billions of food and beverage experiences worldwide. The position focuses on flavour creation, evaluation, knowledge sharing, and delivering solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flavour Creation & Evaluation: Prepare flavour samples for customer briefs, applications, QC standards, and technology assessments. Create or modify flavours to meet customer or internal project requirements.

  • Project Management: Manage flavour development projects ensuring compliance with goals, good manufacturing practices, production requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior flavour assistants, collaborate with cross-functional teams (sensory, analytical chemistry, regulatory, R&D), and contribute to discussions on research and sensory insights.

  • Customer & Technical Support: Act as a technical expert for resolving production issues, customer complaints, and advising internal and external partners on flavour performance.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment while ensuring EH&S guidelines are strictly followed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of flavourist experience after completion of Givaudan Flavourist Trainee Programme or industry equivalent.

  • Strong tasting skills and ability to adjust flavour formulations effectively.

  • Deep knowledge of raw materials, solvent/carrier systems, and flavour creation processes.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (local & regional) for flavours.

  • Intermediate understanding of analytical methodologies (G.C., HPLC, Mass Spec).

  • Experience presenting technical concepts and collaborating with customers.

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and manage flavour assistants.
