Associate – Economist/Public Finance Management – Economics & Sustainability – KSA

PwC Middle East is hiring an Associate Economist to join its Economics & Sustainability (E&S) team, with a focus on public finance management and economic policy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This full-time, on-site role is based in Dubai, supporting high-impact economic projects that help governments and private organizations make better-informed decisions. The role involves fiscal policy analysis, economic impact assessments, and the application of advanced economic techniques to influence strategic decision-making across sectors like finance, energy, transport, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct economic impact assessments, macroeconomic analysis, and fiscal policy development

  • Translate complex fiscal data into actionable strategies and roadmaps

  • Design and deliver training programs and workshops

  • Prepare clear and concise reports for technical and executive audiences

  • Lead projects focused on public finance management (PFM) reforms, fiscal policies, and expenditure control

  • Interact with senior government officials and present to ministerial-level staff

  • Support junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing

  • Drive business development by identifying opportunities and preparing proposals

  • Collaborate across PwC teams to deliver multidisciplinary solutions

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 0–3 years of experience in economics, preferably in a consulting or public sector setting

  • Experience with Ministry of Finance or other central government entities is a plus

  • Strong understanding of the public sector financial lifecycle and international PFM standards

  • Proficiency in economic modeling, impact assessments, and fiscal forecasting

  • Excellent communication and project management skills

  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite; knowledge of Stata, R, EViews, PowerBI, Tableau, or ThinkCell is a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, or related field

  • Arabic language skills and professional qualifications in PFM are ideal

  • Willingness to travel across the Middle East as needed
