JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, a prestigious 5-star property under Marriott International, is hiring an Assistant Engineering Manager. Located in the heart of Dubai’s vibrant downtown, this iconic twin-tower hotel is one of the tallest in the world, featuring 1,608 luxury rooms and over 80,000 square feet of event space. This full-time, on-site role supports the Engineering Department’s day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of safety, maintenance, and guest service across the property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing engineering operations to maintain hotel facilities and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

• Conduct daily walk-throughs to assess and ensure the safety and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related systems.

• Monitor and ensure timely completion of routine maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and hotel grounds.

• Implement safety procedures and ensure adherence to local laws and corporate standards.

• Participate in energy management initiatives, preventive maintenance programs, and departmental training.

• Coordinate maintenance projects, vendor contracts, and third-party service providers.

• Oversee inventory of equipment, supplies, and ensure proper uniforms and materials are available for team members.

• Lead daily departmental briefings, maintain team communication, and ensure collaborative work culture.

• Support and execute the engineering department’s short-term and long-term goals.

• Follow up on system updates (e.g., Transcendent, Guestware) and ensure compliance.

• Respond proactively to guest complaints and maintenance issues to promote satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory engineering role within the hospitality sector is preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage teams, coordinate with other departments, and handle vendors and contractors.
