Mashreq is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Compliance Manager to support the Compliance Manager in ensuring adherence to internal compliance policies and UAE regulatory requirements. This role involves assisting with account onboarding, customer due diligence, regulatory reporting, and staff training. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance integrity across the Retail Banking Group (RBG).

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily compliance operations and Agile squad activity within RBG.

• Assist in the review and oversight of customer onboarding, ongoing due diligence (ODD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD).

• Ensure all transactions and business proposals are compliant with Mashreq and UAE Central Bank regulations.

• Communicate regulatory changes and guidance to business units.

• Participate in the development and updating of KYC standards and AML guidelines.

• Deliver compliance-related training to internal teams.

• Prepare timely MIS/reports on compliance activities and audits.

• Assist in internal and external audits, including follow-up on audit observations.

• Perform customer screening and quality assurance (QA) reviews.

• Act as backup for the Compliance Manager as required.

• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and system initiatives relating to compliance.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• UAE National (mandatory)

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of experience in compliance, preferably in the financial services or banking sector

• Strong understanding of local regulations, AML laws, KYC practices, and Central Bank requirements

• Proven experience in client due diligence (CDD/EDD) and onboarding compliance

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance tools

• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
