Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), one of the UAE’s largest and most advanced tertiary hospitals, is seeking a skilled Interpreter – Patient Experience to provide accurate bilingual interpretation and translation services in healthcare settings. The Interpreter will support clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that non-English speaking patients receive the best possible care.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate English/Arabic interpretation for patients, families, and visitors.

• Perform sight translation of medical and official documents as required.

• Support providers by bridging cultural differences and ensuring patient understanding.

• Maintain records of interpreting/translation assignments and ensure compliance with SSMC policies.

• Handle basic patient queries, escalate complex concerns, and provide service excellence at all times.

• Ensure confidentiality, impartiality, and adherence to professional ethics.

• Participate in professional development, training, and departmental initiatives.

🛠 Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in translation, foreign language, or related field; OR equivalent healthcare experience.

• 3–4 years of medical interpretation/translation experience or equivalent healthcare-facing role.

• Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic.

• Excellent communication, cultural awareness, and interpersonal skills.

• Hospital or healthcare experience preferred.
