AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering and nuclear services company, is seeking a highly experienced HSE Director to lead health, safety, and environmental oversight for the UAE High-Speed Rail (HSR) Intercity Project – Phase 1. This full-time, on-site role involves ensuring contractor compliance, auditing, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement initiatives across Civil Works and Rail Systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project-wide HSE strategy implementation and ensure compliance with UAE regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, OSHA).

• Review and accept contractor HSE plans, procedures, and emergency response strategies.

• Provide guidance to contractors on HSE issues and corrective actions.

• Conduct site audits, inspections, and leadership tours; monitor emergency preparedness.

• Oversee HSE training and orientation programs for all personnel.

• Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses; ensure lessons learned are implemented.

• Analyze performance reports, lead campaigns/workshops, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and contractors on all HSE matters.

• Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions; provide input to progress reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• Minimum 20 years of HSE leadership experience in major infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in rail or transport.

• Professional membership with a recognized safety body (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, BCSP).

• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international standards.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Valid UAE driving license.
