Drydocks World is hiring a Supervisor – Welding (Structural) to oversee and coordinate welding activities in both onboard and workshop settings. The role involves ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in steel structural works, welding processes, and supervision of welding teams, with the ability to deliver projects efficiently and to international standards.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Plan, organize, and supervise welding activities to meet milestones and ensure timely delivery.

Review specifications and prepare job plans, including manpower, equipment, and consumables.

Develop and review project risk analysis, fabrication plans, and resource utilization.

Ensure welders’ qualifications, WPS parameters, materials, and working conditions are valid.

Monitor essential welding parameters, preheating, and distortion control during execution.

Ensure compliance with approved Heat Treatment Procedures and NDT requirements.

Implement traceability systems for WPS, welders, consumables, and project documentation.

Coordinate progress with Project Managers, Owners, and other trades.

Prepare detailed project programs, manpower reports, and productivity measurements.

Train, motivate, and develop subordinate skills through effective supervision.
Qualifications / Skills:
-
Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in steel structural works, with at least 3 years in a Foreman/Lead role.

Knowledge of NDE/NDT techniques and stress relieving processes.

International Welding Specialist (IWS) certificate or equivalent (ISO 14731).

Strong understanding of welding standards (AWS D1.1, ASME VIII & IX, ISO 15614, ISO 9606, ISO 3834-2, EN 1090, IACS Rec.47, DNVGL-OS-C401, etc.).

Expertise in welding processes, consumables management, and heat treatment.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.

Proficiency in MS Office, planning, and basic project management.
