Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), one of the UAE’s leading healthcare providers, is seeking a Speech-Language Therapist/Pathologist to join its Speech & Language Therapy Department. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, swallowing, fluency, and feeding disorders. The position requires expertise in working with both adults and pediatric patients, while ensuring high standards of care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage a caseload of patients with developmental and acquired communication, swallowing, and feeding disorders.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.

• Conduct detailed case histories, including medical, social, psychological, and educational information.

• Administer and interpret standardized assessments to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning.

• Provide therapy interventions integrated into patients’ daily routines and educational or care environments.

• Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals to provide recommendations and training.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure effective patient care.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and uphold infection control standards.

• Monitor therapy equipment, report faults, and coordinate repairs or replacements.

• Stay updated with clinical and professional developments through continuing education (CPD/CME).

• Contribute to departmental meetings, quality initiatives, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements:

• Education:

  • BSc in Speech & Hearing, Speech Language Pathology, or Communication Sciences & Disorders.

  • MSc preferred (candidates with MSc may qualify with a basic degree in psychology or language).

• Licensing: Current national license or membership in a recognized international agency preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in Speech & Hearing Sciences or Speech-Language Pathology. (1 year if holding MSc).

• Strong clinical reasoning, analytical skills, and familiarity with standardized assessments.

• Proficiency in handling both pediatric and adult cases.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
