Ajman University is seeking a qualified Dental Nurse to support and oversee day-to-day patient care activities in its clinical practice. This role ensures adherence to established clinical policies, protocols, and safety standards while assisting dental students and providing essential nursing support in the clinics. The Dental Nurse plays a vital role in maintaining hygiene, guiding students, and ensuring smooth clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sterilize instruments used in the clinic.

• Assist dental students during patient treatment and prepare patients for procedures.

• Evaluate students’ clinical performance and guide them as needed.

• Demonstrate minor oral surgery procedures (e.g., impacted teeth).

• Support dental students in their research and seminar activities.

• Assist with patient consultations and dental check-ups.

• Perform regular inspections for cross-infection control.

• Provide support during mid-term and final examinations.

• Assist dental technicians with laboratory tasks.

• Maintain hygiene, safety, and health standards in the dental clinics.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

• Valid MOH License.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical environment.

• Strong knowledge of dental equipment, sterile procedures, and inventory control.

• Familiarity with governmental and institutional regulations for dental outpatient services.

• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain dental equipment.

• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and cross-infection protocols.

Working Conditions:

• Work performed in a medical/clinical environment.

• Moderate physical activity with handling of average-weight objects.

• Exposure to potential hazards or risks requiring safety precautions.

• May work with blood or blood-borne pathogens.

Supervision:

• Reports to: Manager of CCEE/Clinics and Head of Department.
